Pacifique Treize has taken a significant step by officially launching its Women’s program for 2024, further solidifying its position in the rugby league community of the French-speaking Pacific.

In New Caledonia, AS Pacifique XIII will broaden it’s rugby league offering by introducing a Women’s program to its existing training regimen. Athletes from all over Grande Terre are invited to participate in sessions held every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning at the Edouard Pentecost Stadium in Noumea. These sessions, led by coaches Aimée and Didier, will run concurrently with the men’s and juniors’ programs, providing a comprehensive training environment for all participants.

Building on the pioneering efforts of the Vanuatu Rugby League, which launched one of the first Women’s Rugby League competitions in 2018, Pacifique Treize’s program in Vanuatu aims to create even more opportunities for female athletes to excel. This collaboration with the VRL underscores a shared commitment to nurturing elite talent in the sport.

A key feature of this initiative is the organization of regular matches between the Vanuatu and New Caledonia academy squads, fostering a spirit of competition and camaraderie among the athletes. The inaugural match-up is eagerly anticipated in the fourth quarter of this year, promising to be a landmark event in the promotion and development of women’s rugby league in the region.
